Forthcoming recitals and events featuring Members of the Society of Women Organists

18-24 April 2021

RCO Organ Week

Beginning with RCO Choral Day on Sunday 18 April and culminating in interNational Organ Day on Saturday 24 April, this is a week-long celebration of the organ. Highlights include an exploration of the work of local organ associations, a celebrity recital by Stephen Farr, and a day centred on cinema and theatre organ music. Many SWO members will be featured in RCO Organ Week, including:

-A discussion between SWO Co-Chair Anne Marsden Thomas and her female pupils about what attracted them to the organ, what it means for them to learn as girls, and what their aspirations are as musicians;

-A performance of Karl Jenkins' Celebratio by SWO Co-Chair, Ghislaine Reece-Trapp, which will be played as the 'theme tune' before and after the events throughout RCO Organ Week;

-A collage of videos highlighting the diversity of SWO's members;

-An exploration of historic female organists organised by SWO.
