Recitals and events featuring Members of the Society of Women Organists
Musical Pioneers: Women in the Organ World
Tuesday 14th September at 6pm on Zoom
Whatever career you are considering, come and hear how and why five women organists established their careers in a male-dominated environment; after they have spoken briefly they will answer questions. You don’t have to be a SWO member to attend this free event, so please spread the word; parents and teachers are welcome, too.
The evening will be chaired by Aine Kennedy, our lively SWO Youth Officer, and the five women are Katherine Dienes-Williams, Organist and Master of the Music, Guildford Cathedral; Anna Lapwood, Director of Music at Pembroke College, Cambridge; Sarah MacDonald, Fellow and Director of Music at Selwyn College, Cambridge; Ghislaine Reece-Trapp, composer, recitalist, and teacher at Highgate School, and Anne Marsden Thomas, founder-director of an organ school and author of 23 books for student organists.
Please email your interest to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you a Zoom link just before the event.
