Catherine Anderson
Catherine is a British freelance musician based in Timaru, New Zealand. She is a piano teacher, Director of Music at St Mary’s Church, Timaru and conductor of the Youth Orchestra of South Canterbury and the Alpine Energy Timaru Brass Band.
She studied music at Bath Spa University in the UK where she was in demand as an accompanist, played the organ of Bath Abbey for university concerts, and was musical director for a number of shows. After graduating, Catherine worked for Sutton Music Service in South London before training as a primary school teacher.
Catherine is a trustee of the Zimbelstern Foundation in NZ which promotes the organ and organ music to people who may not normally get to experience it.
